My thoughts:

This was a fast paced and action packed book. Right from the opening sequence, which initially didn't make much sense (don't worry - things become clearer as the story progresses!) through to the final showdown, the action doesn't let up.

The relationships between all the characters were quite sweet. The boys were obviously great friends, and their families cared very much about them. There were also a number of non traditional families, which felt a little more true to life. Also, realistically, the story dealt with how the boys attempted to manage their new superpowers and the responsibilities that those gave them alongside things like chores, relationships, school, homework - and how it's not actually possible to all things!

Interestingly Druth, the villain of the piece, was not a one dimensional evil character. I won't say any more - I don't want to give anything more away! - but if you read it, you'll see what I mean.

I thought it was an interesting mash up of sci-fi and superhero, with a dash of animorphs, which should appeal to any adults looking for a touch of nostalgia, while there's enough action and intrigue to satisfy anyone looking for a wild ride.
